Let’s talk! I love sharing little moments from my childhood—especially the ones that remind me of my mom, who passed away. It’s these small, everyday things that created lasting memories, and I find joy in carrying them forward with my own kids. April Fools’ Day was one of those traditions, filled with laughter and surprises!

Growing up, my mom was the Queen of April Fools'. I can't tell you how many times she got us! Here are two that stuck out:

  • She once told me someone had called about a job I applied for in high school. She handed me a phone number and said it was for a Mr. Raph—a Mr. G. Raph. I called the number and got the Milwaukee County Zoo! 🤦‍♀️

  • Another time, she told us we were all going to Appleton for the night. My siblings and I packed our bags, loaded up in the car, and waited… and waited. Our parents never came out. Finally, we went back inside to ask what was going on, and they just yelled, "April Fools!" So mean.

I've only tried a few pranks on my kids. The best one? Freezing their cereal in milk. They were so confused—their reaction was anticlimactic!

For me, these little pranks are more than just jokes—they’re memories that stick with us. My mom’s humor and playfulness were a big part of my childhood, and I love passing that spirit on to my kids. What about you? Do you have any fun April Fools’ traditions?
